We returned from Winter Recess and started reading the Mercy Watson Series by Kate DiCamillo. Using a nonfiction text about real pigs, students brainstormed what we believed pigs think...."they think about mud," "they think about food, lots of it," and "they think about baby pigs!"
We loved the pictures in the book Life on a Pig Farm and are enjoying reading Mercy Watson Thinks Like a Pig! We are also working on reading and listening skills on the computer where students are reading a second Mercy Watson story on Tumblebooks.
